This is an example of a School Magazine which was intended to be a reflection of the wider curriculum. There is a rich diversity in terms of the activities available to all students…and the publication is intended to be ‘student friendly’ in the way that it has been designed. Whilst there is a considerable amount of information in the features themselves, there is a deliberate emphasis on the visual material which seeks to compliment the written word.
The School Prospectus was once a legal requirement, but this is no longer the case. The brief we were given with the design of this publication was twofold. On the one hand, to produce a document which provides a summary of the day to day curriculum. On the other hand, it was important to the client that the brochure would have a very contemporary design, not only with regard to the presentation of the content, but also in terms of the tactile qualities of the cover. This was ultimately a complex process involving soft touch laminate, foil blocking and spot UV…but the end result clearly achieves the desired effect.
